Have you too become OBSESSED with Pinterest?  I admit to spending WAY too much time looking at other people's great ideas.  But during this time, which could be described as "wasted" by some, (and some, I mean my husband) I have stumbled upon some really cool ideas using some of our amazing products, and wanted to share them.

Off to have an affair...

An Affair of the Heart Craft Show in Oklahoma City...that is.  Come on, what were you thinking?  I met the wonderful ladies this morning at 6am for a cup of coffee.  They were on the way to OKC for the wonderful craft show that will be happening this weekend.  I have to tell you, these ladies are all so awesome.  They love what they do and it shows so much.  I get inspired everytime I am around them.  We are all very excited about all of the new things we have for you. 

I made these shopping bag holders yesterday. 

These are so cool.  I don't know about y'all but I never know what to do with all of those yucky plastic bags from the grocery store.  These will hold them and make them look pretty too.  The bottoms of these bags have elastic around them.  So when you need a bag, just pull one out.  Very convienent.

If you are near OKC stop by the Affair of the Heart Craft Show and say hi to the ladies.  You really have to check out how beautiful the booth display is also.  You would think you were walking into an old General Store.  BTW, if you do get to go by tell them I said HI!

A Learning Process

Once upon a time there was a woman who decided she was bored with all of her normal crafts.  She loved them but it was time to move on to something new.  But what?  There are so many choices.  As she sat and pondered, she thought of the Metal Singer sewing machine sitting in her closet.  HMMMM maybe she should pull it out and make a quilt.  She had never done this before, how hard could it be?  She searched the internet, found a project and set off to work.  Making the quilt top was easy.  Quilting the layers together, fairly simple.  The Binding....that is a completely different story.  She read and researched and still couldn't quite understand how to put that binding on.  With fear in her heart she dove in and did it anyway.  She was so proud of herself.  It looked so good, in her untrained eyes....

As time went on and she learned a little more...she realized maybe this wasn't the best looking job.  So she tried again...

Wow, this attempt was even worse.  How did the back look?

Well with a final product looking like that, she decided to give up.  How could she let anyone see something like that.  She was very sad.  She packed up her sewing machine and put it back in the closet.  A year later, she decided to try again.  She talked her husband into buying a BRAND new shiny sewing machine, surely this would make her sew better.   Well, she tinked around for a few months longer still not happy with the results of her efforts.  Suddenly when she thought she was done sewing again, her Sewing Fairy Godmother (Karen) came swooping in.  Ohhhhh...she was beautiful, smart, and such an excellent teacher.  The woman was so excited to try quilting and binding again...

OOOOO  AAAHHHHH!  The woman was so excited!  She called her parents, her husband, her kids, her kids' teachers, the papers, the TV stations, just to tell them what she had done.  She had also learned the beauty and art of finishing the binding on the back of her quilt by hand...

The moral of the story:  Please don't give up if you don't get things right the first time.  Keep trying!  It is OK to ask for help when you don't understand how to do something.  Remember, never quit learning!
