The ladies of Home a la mode have made the trek north once again. We arrived yesterday at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds for the Affair of the Heart show and got the booth set up! We were blessed that the rain didn't show up during our trailer unload :)
If you are in the area, we would love for you to stop and say "Hi". Let us know you saw this blog post and we hook you up with a discount :)

Jelly Roll 1600 Lap Quilt Tutorial
Do you know how to get this....
To look like this?
With this!!! Check out this tutorial that Kristin adapted from www.heirloomcreations.net. It's the perfect way to use some of the jelly rolls you have in your stash. Or check out our website for all the jelly rolls that we offer! I used our new Windsor Lane Junior Jelly Rolls by Bunny Hill Designs - it took just one of each the blue and the green.
We have also gotten some new chenille in our inventory, which makes a perfect backing for these quilts!

How Did Your Year Begin?
January 31st, 2013...
How did your year begin?
We started off this year. January 4th taking my mother to ER because she fell getting out of bed... Friday morn at 6am. After one week in the ICU we followed an ambulance to a Rehab/Nursing Facility in a nearby community. God was watching out for us! She had ruptured her right lung and fractured her L1 in the middle of her back, but she is recovering well.
We triggered a new life style for both of us. Mom is now in her new home and us traveling to visit her on a daily basis. It is about 40 minutes away from us, but in an area where our entire Texas family has the opportunity to pop in anytime. They are all within 10-30 minutes away... one is 1 1/2 hours away... but that is now our meeting place our family. It has been now 3 weeks since that fall. She has had family there to visit every day except 1. (She has fallen 7 times since, small spills) Glad she has nurses by her side. She is healing and happy and seems to be doing well, now. She likes her new home and I am breathing a bit easier knowing she is being well cared for by nurses and doctors
at her new place. I couldn't do what they are doing.
They are awesome! And she enjoys the attention she is receiving.
The reason I am telling you this on our blog is.... Mom was one of our wrappers of your wonderful items you buy from Home a la mode. It kept her busy and she enjoyed making presents. Many of our customers have met "Our Mom", Grandma B, at the Quilt and Craft Shows in Oklahoma and Texas areas that we have attended over the past couple of years. Mom would sit and knit up lots of slippers, scarves, blankets and share lots of stories from Jolly Old England (which is where mom grew up).
Here's to you Mom!
For all Mothers and Fathers that are getting up in age and needing extra love and help...
Blessings to you all!

Merry Christmas!
How are you spending your Christmas? Spending time with family and friends, or a quiet day at home? Here in north Texas, we are enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime White Christmas... at least the first in my lifetime :)
We spent the day with Karen & Jim. Our girls decided that we needed to play in the snow.
Then, of course, the snowman building began - it got too dark before it was finished.
I hope you enjoyed your day in your own special way. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!
My little on with the biggest snowball she could make.

Good Friday Morning!
Well, Good Morning! Can you all believe that we are already at the half way mark for this month? I can't. We have been busy with Christmas parties...Christmas concerts for the kids...baking Christmas goodies...making Christmas gifts. It has been a crazy couple of weeks. One thing that has me a little rattled is that I am no where near done with my Christmas shopping lists. You know when you get down to the bottom of the list and have no clue what to get that special friend or aunt or even a little something for your mom? Well, I am there. So, I turned to our Home a la mode website and decided that our line of Vintage Inspired Hankies would do the trick!
I think that these would be absolutely precious to give as a gift. You could even break up the set and have several different gifts.
I love this set to give to a grandparent. I know my little princess would love using these to play with at her Mima and Grandaddy's house.
Living in Southern Oklahoma and having most of my family living in Texas, these little hankies have a special place in my heart. I am going to take these and break them up. We have a tradition of Chinese Christmas. I want to use these for that.
I hope you are all having a Great Christmas season. I am off to work on some homemade gifts.
